Abbot’s Way, situated in the historic Somerset village of Meare, provides a nurturing, holistic environment for students with dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia and the associated gifts and challenges.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.

Successful applicants are subject to an enhanced DBS check. You will need to provide 2 professional references, and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

Job Vacancies

Speech and Language Therapist

We are offering a unique opportunity for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist  to join the Abbot’s Way team.

Successful applicants will be able to evidence ‘inspirational learning with a difference’, and demonstrate:

  • Passion for multi-sensory, ‘student led’ learning

  • Commitment to a strong safeguarding culture

Knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas is desirable:

  • Dyslexia / SpLD
  • Language disorder & processing
  • Auditory processing
  • Speech sound disorder
  • Social communication
  • High functioning ASD
  • Sensory preferences & sensory integration

Clinical supervision is provided to support development of your clinical competences and deliver evidence based approaches to intervention.

Professional registration with RCSLT and HCPC is required.

Contract:              The post is for five days per week, term time only, plus inset days (5 per year)
                                    Full time hours preferable

Salary:                    Band 6 posts, salary dependent on experience

KS3 and KS4 Teacher of English & Literacy, to include a Tutor Role

KS3 and KS4 Teacher of Humanities - History and Geography

Hours:                         Starting - 10 hours a week

Mini Bus Driver

We are looking for an enthusiastic Mini Bus Driver to join the team at Abbot's Way as soon as possible.

Contract:    Monday to Friday during term time

Hours:          10 hours per week - 3.45 pm to 6.00 pm

Salary:          £10.00 per hour

School Breaks and Lunch Time Supervisor

We are looking for an ethusiastic and caring person to supervise our Students during their breaks and lunch times

Contract:    Mondays to Fridays during term time

Timings:
10:45 - 11:30
12:45 - 2:00
