We welcome visits from professionals and prospective students throughout the year.
The chance to tour and talk provides families with an opportunity to have a look around Abbot's Way and its grounds, getting a feel for who we are and how we do what we do
Parents enjoy exploring our learning and therapeutic spaces both inside and outdoors, from the Language Lofts to the beautiful view from The Paddocks of the river and countryside beyond.
They have spent valuable and constructive time with Joint Heads, Hellen and Gareth, and SENCo, Anne, where they have been able to discuss their specific situation and have all their questions answered with appropriate advice and support going forward.
We have received very positive feedback, here are some examples:
Wow, it’s beautiful... such a perfect feel.
I can see exactly what you’re doing, it’s tailored for each student and it’s preparing them for the future
This approach is exactly what every child needs, I can’t quite believe you offer it!
I never imagined so much space indoors and out... you’ll be able to do so much.
It’s great-love the work you’ve done, love what you’re going to do, please keep going.
Thank God you exist.
Thank you so much for showing me round, I absolutely love it. It will be an amazing school and the kids that come here will be very lucky.
A beautiful, welcoming setting with a very calm and therapeutic feel. We were so impressed with your passion, commitment and vision for the school. Thank you for showing us around.
Thank you very much for showing us around Abbot's Way (in a socially distanced manner!) and sharing your vision and concepts for the school. The building is light and spacious, seemingly perfect for an inspiring and calm learning environment. The grounds are lovely with a huge amount of open green space. It seems such a therapeutic place to restart your education after a likely difficult experience elsewhere. It is clear you have in mind a very nurturing small school and we liked the attention to developing qualities and skills in and outside of academia. Last but not least, Apollo is the most gorgeous dog and we think he is a fabulous member of your team supporting children with learning differences!
Great to attend the open day opportunity at Abbot’s Way today.
A warm welcome from Apollo and a personal tour of the school building and the extensive grounds from the dedicated joint Headteachers.
Vision for the building and extensive grounds was shared and transparency of where the school is in terms of DFE and Ofsted registration.
Clear vision and values were presented, clear detailed curriculum model was shared that is clearly centred on skills children need for life alongside a broad and balanced curriculum.
There was an obvious passion for supporting children on an individual basis. Opportunity to ask questions on an individual level and conversations centred around and involved the child.
Our child was relaxed and happy exploring the grounds and interacting with the joint Headteachers and came away wanting to return. What more could a parent ask for?
Would highly recommend you book a visit so you can see for yourselves.
Please contact us to arrange further visits which we are more than happy to book in at a mutually convenient time during the week
