Kara Tointon

Actress, Performer and Strictly winner Kara Tointon is proudly supporting Abbot's Way School and is looking forward to a visit soon.

Being dyslexic herself, Kara is excited about the hard work and dedication which is going into making Abbot's Way a reality.  She appreciates the need for our provision and has declared that she "cannot wait to get involved with Abbot's Way School'' and will be ''advocating for the school for future years"

We look forward to working with Kara in the future in promoting specific learning differences as a 'brilliance' to be celebrated

Tom McLaughlin

Tom is a children’s author and illustrator who’s written over 20 books, from picture books for little ones to chapter books for older children.  He is best known for the ‘Accidental’ series that’s been translated into over a dozen languages. 

His books have been read on TV by some notable celebrities including Tom Hardy, Simon Pegg and Sir Sam Mendes. 

As well as writing and illustrating childrens books, he has also worked as a script writer, animation designer and an occasional columnist for The Guardian where he has written about his experiences of dealing with dyslexia.
